Role Responsibility

Each resident is unique.  The care and support they need is individualised and personal to them.  You’ll lead by example, treating people with kindness and compassion.  Your sensitive and respectful approach ensures residents maintain their dignity and feeling of self worth.    

Your caring input helps to make things as easy and comfortable as possible for our residents.  You contribute to residents' emotional wellbeing by getting to know them personally and supporting them to participate in social activities and events.  You see the benefit of this stimulation by getting involved with planning, organising and delivering these home activities and functions.

To ensure each resident's needs are met, you’ll lead with the responsibility of regular monitoring of their health, care and social needs, plus the preparation, implementation and review of their personal care plan.  This involves supervising other team members and liaising with people involved in their care, as well as with the residents themselves, to ensure their needs and wishes are at the centre of the care we provide.  

The Ideal Candidate

Experienced in health or social care, ideally working with older people, you’ll be familiar with CQC requirements.  Ideally you will be qualified to QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) or willing to undertake training to Level 3.

With more seniority comes more responsibility, so you’ll be keen to show your management skills and take charge for an entire shift, be able to work on your own initiative, and cope under pressure in a diverse and changing environment.

Situated in South West London near to Hampton Court Palace and Chessington, Abbeyfield House is just a short drive from Richmond and Bushy Park with excellent transport links and close to local amenities.  Established in 1999, our home is a purpose-built dementia care home offering 36 single en-suite rooms.  There is a beautiful, spacious garden filled with sensory items and ample seating for our residents to enjoy spending time outdoors.
Our experienced team recognise the importance of building and maintaining relationships with family and friends and welcome them warmly to our home.  Our aim is to offer exceptional care in an enjoyable environment. The team put on a varied and engaging calendar of social events for our residents and get to know them to find out what hobbies or interests they have.  Our house manager is passionate about food and nutritious and delicious meals are always served and enjoyed by our residents.  
Our home is warm, friendly and comfortable and our ultimate goal is for our residents to always feel happy, safe and secure.  Nothing is too much trouble for our committed team and problems are sorted out as soon as possible. You will be joining a closely knit team that is always committed to making a difference in people’s lives.
