You will be responsible for the safety and security of our residents as they sleep, working on you own initiative. The role involves carrying out regular building checks maintaining a high level of security and being the first point of contact in the event of an emergency, respond immediately and appropriately to emergency alarm calls providing first aid and dealing with fire / smoke alarms carrying out the appropriate action as necessary. You will also answer the telephone and deal with any enquires.
Acting as the first responder to any incidents and emergencies, you will keep accurate records ensuring compliance with current Covid-19 guidelines.
Duties will include and are not limited to: internal/ external cleaning tasks within a specific time frame, emptying waste bins, transporting waste material to collection points, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, spot cleaning, spray cleaning and floors using an electric powered machines, dusting, replenish toilets with paper towels etc..., cleaning toilets, urinals, showers, sinks, window cleaning, kitchens and offices using chemical cleaning agents.
You will be responsible for unlocking and locking the building doors early in the morning and late in evening along with keeping accurate records reporting any issues to management.
You will need to be able to stay calm under pressure, taking any complications in your stride. Effortlessly deal with problems as they arise and ensure standards are maintained at all times. You will need excellent communication skills and be confident to make the right decision.
The Ideal Candidate
First and foremost, you will be a caring person who is compassionate, and understands the needs of older people. Additionally, you will be able to communicate and interact well with a wide range of people in varied situations. Naturally, as you might expect in a modern workplace, you must be able to read, write and work with numbers to a good standard. And it is essential that you are a strong and supportive team player.
To be highly suited to the role, you should be passionate about standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and will be keen to ensure that things are always neat and tidy. Better still, if you’re already experienced working in a similar role, may be within services for older people, then this is definitely the job for you.
