Are you a naturally caring person? Do you make friends easily and interact with a wide range of people in varied situations? And can you also read, write and work with numbers to a good standard?
Are you also a strong and supportive team player, and willing to learn more about food hygiene and preparation? If so, we will provide you with all the training and support you need.
Better still, if you are already QCF qualified to Level 2 in Food Hygiene, this is definitely the job for you.
We are committed to providing the highest standards of care, and we believe that great care starts with great people. Are you a caring, compassionate and welcoming person, who understands the needs of older people and is respectful at all times? Are you comfortable communicating and collaborating with a wide range of people in varied situations as well as a strong and confident team player?
And because we take the wellbeing of our residents and staff very seriously, you won't be surprised that to work for us, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (other than in exceptional circumstances), and intend to have any further booster vaccinations that are made available.
For over 60 years, Abbeyfield has been a charity that provides housing for elderly people across the UK and internationally. It is our mission to enhance the quality of life for our residents through excellent accommodation in a stimulating environment to help maintain a socially active life.
Abbeyfield is more than a home; it’s a neighbourhood, a community, a family. Our core behaviours are to be welcoming to everyone, celebrate the positives, work collaboratively, take responsibility, and be adaptable to changing circumstances.
Best of all, we’re a charity, meaning that the interests of our valued staff and residents sit at the heart of what we do, not shareholders.
Your role at Abbeyfield
Meal times are really important to our residents, and your role is crucial to making them as enjoyable as possible. If you’re passionate about high standards of cleanliness and love to serve good food, then we’d like to hear from you. You’ll serve nicely prepared meals made by our Chef to our lovely residents.
You’ll be great at making new friends and building relationships, and that way, you’ll know our residents’ dietary requirements and know how to cater for them, so that every meal time is an enjoyable one.
And under instruction of our trained Chef, you’ll learn how to undertake some food and drink preparation.
A Great Place to Work
One mile away from Bramhall village centre and with excellent local transport connections, Abbeyfield House is a large, two storey detached house. Our home has 16 bedrooms, most of which are ensuite, with a communal lounge area where residents can spend time together or relax in our conservatory or lovely garden area.
Our attentive and compassionate team closely work together to support our residents and ensure they lead rich, fulfilling lives with delicious, home cooked meals served in our dining room and a varied and engaging activity programme on offer.
In return we support our loyal team with regular up to date training and supervision to effectively carry out their roles. If you possess a kind and caring nature and have the desire to be part of a friendly and motivated team, then a career at our home could just be for you.
If you’d like to work for a home that genuinely cares, please do get in touch.
