Role Responsibility

This varied role is to manage provision of an independent scheme for elderly residents.

You'll ensure that a positive accommodation experience in a safe living environment is maintained, and customer expectations are met.

You will also keep a close eye on staff costs, and actively manage rotas and timesheets.

You will ensure that your team are effectively managed, are clear on their responsibilities, and are engaged and motivated.   And finally, you will make sure the scheme complies fully with all relevant regulations, internal Abbeyfield policies and processes.

The Ideal Candidate

As one of our highly valued House Managers, you'll be a naturally caring person, who is compassionate, understands the needs of older people and knows how to cook nutritious meals for them. It is your mission to make each day a happy day for everyone. You are passionate and creative in the way you work, the meals you prepare and service you provide. You solve problems through an honest and trusted approach.  Work for you, is feeling part of a family.  In a modern workplace, you will be able to use computers and IT applications, and be a capable administrator.

The ideal candidate for this role will be self-motivated, calm and efficient, with a can-do attitude and an ability to build strong relationships, communicate well and work proactively.

You will project professional positivity with exceptional interpersonal skills and a sound understanding of relevant Health and Safety requirements. A background in housing and or catering would be advantageous.

A full driving licence is desirable. Please note this role requires an enhanced DBS certificate and Food Hygiene certificate, which we can assist you in obtaining if necessary. Full training will be provided.

Abbeyfield Gloucestershire Society is a local charity tackling loneliness and isolation by providing independent living housing across the county.

We are recruiting for a permanent House Manager to join our passionate team. Working at our Prestbury House, in close liaison with the General Manager, house staff and volunteers, you will place the resident experience at the heart of all you do. With excellent organisation skills and attention to detail you will ensure the day to day operations are managed smoothly and the house is always presented at its best.

About the Company

Our warm and welcoming house is stylishly decorated and provides accommodation for eight residents. Each has their own en-suite room, which they can decorate and furnish as they wish to ensure it feels like home.

The house has a spacious lounge and dining room, which is shared by all residents, giving them the opportunity to socialise and build friendships with one another.

The well maintained gardens are lovely and enjoyed all year round by the residents and a variety of activities and events take place at the house.

Prestbury House is an ideal location, close to the lovely village of Prestbury where you will find a hairdresser, convenience shop, great butchers and award winning pubs. There is also a bus stop next to the house.
