Head of Technology
This exciting new role is to lead in design, delivery and implementation of Abbeyfield’s technology provision, to enable Abbeyfield to realise its ambition to operate efficiently and effectively.
You will provide Abbeyfield with technical leadership to shape successful implementation of our Transformation Programme, alongside the Programme Management Team and in partnership with external IT partner(s). And you will also deliver and maintain, with support of the IT team, a modern infrastructure, network and workspace, with interoperable business applications.
You will own and manage the IT capital and revenue expenditure budget, driving the necessary financial and efficiency savings to deliver value for money targets across all areas associated with technology. And you will ensure that systems are designed to be secure and resilient through the effective application of security and business continuity principles.
You'll define a full technology architecture roadmap, and collaborate with key stakeholders to design and implement standardised and consistent IT related procedures, policies and tools across the organisation with regular compliance monitoring. And crucially, you will provide inspiring leadership and ensure continuous professional development to the IT team to enable the delivery of proactive, service-led technical support across Abbeyfield.

With strong project management skills, including the ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of diverse scopes in a cross-functional environment, you will build consensus, confidence and trust with both the IT team, and IT service users through periods of significant organisational change.
With an in-depth knowledge and understanding of modern cloud platforms and technologies, data warehousing and network architecture principles, and how to harness these to provide a superior IT working environment, you'll be an inspirational, collaborative senior manager who is able to support, coach and lead the IT team to deliver technical and software solutions.
Finally, you will have the ability to strongly influence key stakeholders, through use of objective data and analysis, coupled with highly effective communication skills, to make compelling business investment cases for change.
