Role Responsibility

A one of our valued general assistants, you’re at the front line of care.  We’re passionate about creating a neat and tidy environment for our residents.  So you’ll help us keep our Home clean, tidy for our residents, and welcoming for our many visitors.  This includes communal areas and may include residents’ bedrooms.  

With your attention to detail and high standards, you just know exactly how to make the residents feel as comfortable as possible and put a smile on their faces. Above all, you’ll treat residents with kindness, respect and compassion.

The Ideal Candidate

Are you sensitive, empathetic and love to care for others? And do you have high standards and like things to be neat and tidy?  If that sounds like you, we think you’ll fit right in at Abbeyfield!  Whether you’re new to the world of care or looking for a new career, we’re looking for people to join our growing team of general assistants.

Don’t worry if you have no experience - we’ll provide you with all the training you need. What’s more important is that you have have high standards, and a natural calling to care!

About the Company

Sycamore House is a purpose built residential care home, situated on a quiet residential street in Sherwood, Nottingham with good transport links to the city centre.  We have 42 registered places providing safe and appropriate care in a warm, friendly environment, which includes a designated separate dementia wing named Kenyon Lodge.  Accommodation is provided over three floors with two lifts providing access to all levels, making all areas of our home accessible to those with limited or restricted mobility.

Our wide range of activities and social events, delivered by our passionate and engaging team, have a positive impact on our residents’ lives. Every member of our warm-hearted team plays a vital role in continuously supporting our residents to improve their quality of care and wellbeing.  We are proud to invest in our team throughout their career with learning programmes and continual professional development.
