About Abbeyfield

At Abbeyfield, we believe that great care starts with great people. We’re committed to providing the highest standards of accommodation and service to our residents and we’re always keen to hear from people who share our commitment to enhancing the lives of older people in the UK.

The Role

The Abbeyfield house in Kingsbridge is looking for someone who is able to provide two freshly prepared, traditional home cooked meals a day. Lunch may, typically, be a roast dinner and afternoon tea may be a hot snack with cakes and biscuits.

You will not necessarily have had previous cooking experience outside of your home therefore, we will offer initial support and guidance to help build confidence in the role. Training and certification to meet Health and Safety and Food Hygiene standards will also be provided plus clothing.

What is essential is a caring, friendly and supportive manner with our independent residents where meal time is an important part of their day. In addition, after initial induction/training, you will be able to work unsupervised. Therefore, you must be highly reliable and trustworthy as our residents will depend on you for their meals.
