A Great Place to Work
At Abbeyfield Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead Society we are proud of the care and support we provide for older people in our houses located in Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead. Residents live in a ‘family’ environment where we encourage them to pursue hobbies and interests.
The Society consists of three houses, the houses merged to create one society in 1989 and are run by a voluntary committee. Living with Abbeyfield is the perfect option for people who cannot live on their own and who think that going into care is their only option. In a supported house, residents retain their independence but live in a supportive family environment.
Our resident’s rooms come with fitted kitchen area for our residents to retain their independence should they wish. We have a bright and airy conservatory where our residents and their loved ones or families can sit and chat looking out into our beautiful garden. Our residents enjoy regular coffee mornings and visits from people in our local community.
An honest and open culture is encouraged by our house managers and their teams, who are supported with regular team meetings and ongoing up-to-date training. Our teams are made up of committed, caring and professional people who are dedicated to ensuring that our residents are supported to do the things that they want to do, including the little things that matter.
As part of our team, you will have excellent opportunities to work with some amazing, caring people and give something back to our wonderful residents by enriching their lives. If this sounds like somewhere where you would like to work, please do contact us.
