Abbeyfield at Camborne is a small friendly home with a maximum of 8 elderly residents, who wish to live independently but within a secure environment. Abbeyfield Camborne prides itself on it's warm and caring home and it's happy welcoming atmosphere.

The Role

Abbeyfield Camborne require a permanent Cook/Housekeeper to work a 13.5 hour week over 7 days on a rota basis issued 4 weeks in advance. This will include working weekends and bank holidays and you will be needed to work additional hours as and when required to cover holidays and sickness, sometimes at short notice. You will be required to already hold a current Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate or be willing to obtain one, and be experienced in cooking healthy and balanced meals to a high standard. You will be needed to carry out other housekeeping duties as per the attached job description. A DBS check will be carried out by the employer. The rate of pay is £11.20 per hour.  You will be a key holder and you will sometimes work alone.

About You

You need to be experienced in cooking healthy and balanced meals for 8 or more elderly residents sometimes with special dietary requirements. You need to be willing to carry out other roles such as cleaning, laundry and assisting residents with other needs. You need to be a team player and willing to help out when necessary and sometimes at short notice.

Treveor House is in the small town of Camborne in Cornwall, previously a mining town. The house is a short level walk to the bus and train stations, where you have easy access to the seaside towns of Penzance, Falmouth and St Ives, the city of Truro and the seaside villages of Portreath, Porthtowan and Perranporth. The town has all of the usual shops and facilities, such as Banks, Chemists, Doctors Surgeries. There are places to stay and places to have a great meal, including our famous Cornish Pasties.
