Community Engagement Co-ordinator

Job Introduction

This is an exciting  opportunity to deliver a new community service.  This role puts elderly people at the heart of the local community, by enabling you to use your strong engagement and networking skills to enhance their lived experience.

Role Responsibility

This is a varied role that will enable your passion for community  provision to shine through.  You will ensure that a strong volunteer workforce is recruited and effectively deployed, and a range of social activities are organised regularly in established venues.

Additionally, you will use a range of communication/advertising methods to inform the community of the activities and services being provided.  And you will develop a system of ongoing market research, to understand the type of activities and services desired by older people.

Finally, you will establish and enhance partnerships with existing local community groups or organisations, and identify and secure new funding sources to further enhance the community mission.

The Ideal Candidate

Will have a strong local knowledge of the Formby area and ideally will live in this area.  With a strong empathy for the wellbeing of older people, you will have the ability to engage with and inspire others to join our cause.  You must have demonstrable experience in a similar outward facing role in the promotion of social and/or elderly care services in a local community, aligned with great networking skills.

You will be experienced in establishing strong and sustainable working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, aligned to strong verbal and written communication skills, which you will exploit by deploying appropriate media and channels to influence and engage our target audiences.

At the business management end, you must also be able to obtain and use data to produce management reports, and compile business cases that inform decision making. You will need to be familiar with the use of Microsoft Office applications.

You need to be self-motivated, and be able to thrive by working independently.  Willingness to use your own vehicle to travel around the community is key.
