About Abbeyfield

We’re a charity, meaning that the interests of our valued staff and residents sit at the heart of what we do, not shareholders.

The Role

Our Care Team Leaders sit at the heart of what we do.  As the recognised leader on a shift, you'll have overall responsibility for regular monitoring of the health, care and social needs of our residents, plus the preparation, implementation and review of their personal care plans, including the administering of medication.  You'll supervise, support coach and develop other team members, and liaise with people involved in resident's care, as well as with the residents themselves.  Put simply, you'll ensure residents' needs and wishes are at the centre of the care we provide.  And as the Senior Carer on that shift, you will keep a cool head and take the lead when staff or residents need help, such as in the event of an emergency.

Pay & Benefits

At Abbeyfield, we are committed to rewarding our staff for their hard work. Our many benefits include:

  • Competitive pay, benchmarked annually.
  • 31 days paid leave, including bank/public holidays
  • Comprehensive induction
  • Life Assurance
  • Pay progression within role based on skills and contribution
  • Learning and career development opportunities
  • Occupational sick pay
  • Company pension
  • Discounted gym membership
  • An employee assistance programme
  • Cycle-to-work scheme
  • Shop and save vouchers

About You

You must be an experienced Carer, ideally with a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent, or be committed to working towards this.  And as a leader of a team, you must be able to demonstrate good organisation and staff management skills.  You'll already be skilled in writing and updating Care Plans, and competent in the administration of Medication.  But most of all, you'll be passionate and committed to providing exceptional care to our residents, their families and friends.

Finally, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (other than in exceptional circumstances), and intend to have any further booster vaccinations that are made available.

Lee House is our attractive residential care home located set in the heart of Wimbledon village – the heart of British tennis.  Our friendly and cosy home offers care and support to our older female residents with 27 single, en-suite bedrooms available, many of which have a balcony or overlook the beautiful, well-established gardens.  Being just a 5 minutes walk to Wimbledon village, there is a superb range of shops, cafes and restaurants for our residents to visit or to simply enjoy a picnic on Wimbledon Common.

Our residents enjoy plenty of fun activities and events such as art and crafts and musical events that are run by our fantastic activity co-ordinator and team members.  We believe that it is important for our residents to get together and keep active which can improve their overall well-being and make them feel less isolated.

Our staff are highly motivated and are prepared to go that extra mile to provide the highest standards of care.  Through daily interaction we get to know our residents well and always ensure that everyone, staff included, are treated with kindness and respect.

Every day brings different challenges, but our dedicated, focused team are rewarded knowing that they make a difference to our residents’ lives.  In return, we want our team members to feel motivated and rewarded and offer a competitive package of pay and benefits, together with plenty of training opportunities.

If you feel that you share the same values as us and believe you can be a valuable member of our team, we would love to hear from you.
