Care Assistant - Nights

The Role

As one of our highly valued carers, you'll be at the front line of care delivery. You’ll help residents with their individual care needs, such as personal care, medical care and following social interests. You’ll build a special bond with each resident, and give professional and emotional support during difficult times, such as periods of illness.

Your days as a Care Assistant will be varied, interesting and rewarding. You’ll assist residents with washing, dressing, eating, drinking and getting around.  Importantly, you’ll help make them feel at home.  You’ll be respectful of residents’ choices; their dignity and independence, always. You’ll also be integral to developing residents Care Plans, which includes being aware of any specialist support needs.

About You

Don’t worry if you have no experience - we’ll provide you with all the training you need. What’s more important is that you have a natural calling to care.  and you'll be passionate and committed to providing exceptional care to our residents, their families and friends.

Finally, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (other than in exceptional circumstances), and intend to have any further booster vaccinations that are made available.

Abbeyfield Winnersh is a dementia-friendly residential care home situated in the friendly village of Winnersh, Wokingham.  Our home has 62 en-suite bedrooms, each with a brightly coloured front door complete with a letterbox and street lamp. A wonderful range of facilities include a beauty salon, communal and private lounges and café which our residents and their visiting friends and families can enjoy at their leisure.

A large garden and roof terrace have been designed to encourage outside living with lots of areas for activity or relaxation in the warmer months or in our summer houses which are used by our residents throughout the year.  For the younger family members, a fun area and climbing frame is provided too.

We believe that it is important to treat our residents as individuals and tailor the care towards specific individual needs.  Our team is dedicated to ensuring all residents’ needs are met and expectations exceeded.
