If that sounds like you, we think you’ll fit right in at Abbeyfield!  Whether you’re new to the world of care or looking to retrain, we’re looking for people to join our growing team of care assistants.

We are committed to providing the highest standards of care, and we believe that great care starts with great people. Are you a caring, compassionate and welcoming person, who understands the needs of older people and is respectful at all times? Are you comfortable communicating and collaborating with a wide range of people in varied situations as well as a strong and confident team player?

And because we take the wellbeing of our residents and staff very seriously, you won't be surprised that to work for us, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (other than in exceptional circumstances), and intend to have any further booster vaccinations that are made available.

About Abbeyfield

For over 60 years, Abbeyfield has been a charity that provides housing for elderly people across the UK and internationally. It is our mission to enhance the quality of life for our residents through excellent accommodation in a stimulating environment to help maintain a socially active life.

Abbeyfield is more than a home; it’s a neighbourhood, a community, a family. Our core behaviours are to be welcoming to everyone, celebrate the positives, work collaboratively, take responsibility, and be adaptable to changing circumstances.

Best of all, we’re a charity, meaning that the interests of our valued staff and residents sit at the heart of what we do, not shareholders.

Your role at Abbeyfield

As one of our highly valued carers, you'll be at the front line of care delivery. You’ll help residents with their individual care needs such as personal care, medical care and following social interests. You’ll build a special bond with each resident and give professional and emotional support during difficult times such as periods of illness.

You just know exactly how to make the residents feel as comfortable as possible and put a smile on their faces. Above all, you’ll treat residents with kindness, respect and compassion, ensuring each individual has a choice and feeling of self worth

A Great Place to Work

Hill House is a warm and welcoming registered care home located a couple of miles from the town of Honiton, near the village of Combe Raleigh and just off the A30 Honiton by-pass.  A former home of Lord and Lady of Sidmore, it is set in a beautiful Georgian-style building offering 30 ensuite rooms spread over 2 floors.

There is a calm and relaxed atmosphere in our home.  As manager of Hill House my overall aim is to ensure all my staff feel valued and knowledgeable in their own role. Residents receive excellent quality care from our highly skilled team and family and friends have confidence in the care we provide their loved ones.

My team is encouraged to build caring, positive relationships with our residents to maintain their independence and individuality through a range of social activities at our home. At my home you can look forward to a role that offers flexibility and plenty of free learning and development opportunities.

If you would like to use your people skills in an organisation that provides the quality care you would expect for your loved ones, this is a rewarding placed to be.
